What we need is a few good 'taters.
What's 'taters, precious? What's 'taters, eh?

Sure, but we could still just do another painting competition as well.

After reading through the painting articles in the old magazines, the paints that they tell you to use are the Games Workshop ones which are no longer available. Will the articles still be beneficial to others or not?

Yes of course they will! Lost of people still have the old paints (franticly buying pots of devian mud) but there is also a conversion chart.

The conversion chart is worthless. Some of the colors are so far off I have completely switched to the new paints to maintain the same color schemes.

Having just received "Hobbit Escape from Goblin Town" as a gift, I think some painting guides for these new minis would be appreciated by me, and perhaps some others, as well.

Is it possible for you to edit the original post to put the names of some volunteers next to the items? I don't want to make people feel like someone else is already doing what they want to but I am currently surrounded by mini's so don't want to do something that is already being done!

I am volunteering for a number of Moria models: Goblin Warrior, Spearman, Archer and Cave Troll. I want to make my own Watcher in the water as well.

Sorry for being a little dim but I'm a newby

Where are the painting guides?

If I can find any old ones or produce one of my own ( ;) ) where would I put them?

like I said, I'm a newby trying to find my feet around this site
