I used Death World Forest forest, I haven't really compared it to Gretchin Green though (I have both) but it seems pretty similar from what I remember - I can compare it at some point this weekend though if you'd like?

Re: CGOM: Osgiliath Veterans Conversions (25/01)

Fri Jan 25, 2013 6:45 pm

My first 12 Osgiliath Veterans, converted from normal Warriors of Minas Tirith. I used a hobby knife to hack away parts of the armour, and then Green Stuff was used for the cloth and cloaks. One Veteran has an Easterling Sword and another has a Haradrim Spear. I have another 24 Veterans that need to be converted.

They look good. Cloaks can be a pain, sometimes doing in two stages helps to get that extra flare out after the core section is done.

Neither can I! I'm itching to get them painted up

Thanks Sithious :) I rushed the cloaks on some of these, I normally do 3/4 stages but I only did 2 on a couple of them - hopefully I'll be able to hide it when they're painted up (or hide them among the others  )

Re: CGOM: Faramir, Captain of Gondor (31/01)

Thu Jan 31, 2013 7:32 pm

As a slight break from painting Goblins, I've painted up Faramir to lead my Gondor - which will be representing the defenders of Osgiliath as they are portrayed in the Return of the King. I'll be using my Gondor army to improve my metallics and faces. Since taking the pictures, I've repainted Faramir's face, the white tree on his armour was a pain to get right.

My first batch of Osgiliath Veterans fully painted, including a group shot with Faramir; I really enjoyed painting them.

Love the battle wounds on the cave troll... I just might steal that idea for my MoM troll.

Wonderful stuff!

Re: CGOM: EFGT: Goblins and Grinnah (24/03)

Sun Mar 24, 2013 4:08 pm

The second batch of Goblins has been painted since the end of January, I just never got round to posting them. I opted for a darker skin tone with these Goblins (most easily seen on Grinnah, still getting used to the new photobucket), which leaves me with the Goblin Scribe left to paint and the Goblin King needs his base finished - and when they're done I'll post a group shot.
