Siege of Gondolin in 28mm

Thu Mar 06, 2014 2:53 am

I am working on a Epic size game of the siege of Gondolin. Still painting up some Balrogs and waiting on some dragons to arrive before I begin the assault. I am also still working on the layout of the city. The pics are my first try at it....but I plan on adding some buildings and a outer wall.

Wow ambitious project that looks great! The fall of Gondolin is one of the most interesting parts of the Silmarillion. Hope it goes well! Excited to see more!

Thanks to all! I just re designed the city added some buildings, its not perfect but its a playable Gondolin. I will post pics in a few!!! I now have the 11 or 12 houses of Elves for Gondolin, not the exact shield design or if even close, but the battle should be colorful. I should have 398 foot, 42 cav, 100 plus archers against 300 Orcs, 3 dragons and 2 Balrogs. There are alot of Elves do to the Epic size of the city, it will be alot of fun to play...but I am still working on the game table...so it will be a few weeks until I start the game.

Here is a small update. Painting up 300 orcs for the game. Finally placed the Elves on the walls and put some Valley Guard coming into the field from the southwest.
