Thank god. Or more acurately, Necromancer :D

I've seen someone posting a few links to archived webpages of the old TLA site. Does that mean most of the articles can be recovered?

Hey, at least we are getting there. The forum community has certainly sprung to life quite rapidly, I can barely keep up any more.
It's good to hear that at least 1/3 are mostly recoverable. I thought that the number would be much lower than that, to be honest.

As someone who lost around 13 articles I feel no quams saying, why not start again? A lot of time could be spent recovering when just building a new, better quality site could take priority and get things up and running faster. Not saying rush things, or put the same individual strains on any one or few people that caused the collapse of the last site, obviously; to be honest I think it's clear that to keep such a forum running with the massive database of content and articles for players there will need to be some kind of fee.... it didn't work on a donations process, so to bring up arguments of old (this one's been going on since the beginning of the decade near enough!) that younger players can't afford etc etc... anyone can walk into a corner shop and pick up a top up "credit card", put 5-10 quid (you play warhammer, it costs a fortune!) on it and stick it online to keep what is clearly a lot of people's favourite website online.

Sorry to be right wing, but hey, I'm a registered conservative, it works!
Cheers,

Aod

The time has been spent a long time ago now
The only thing missing is cataloguing the last section into the excel file and crossing the articles with the ones sent by members, the bulk was done a while ago
yes we will restart, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to save many of the awesome articles in the old site

Oooh. Does this mean we are close to a reboot of the site soon?

that depends on the necromancer
but he is fairly busy and it's not like he's getting paid to do this, he still needs to take care of his career and personal life
so let's give him time ;)
Who knows, maybe a big reopening for the GT :P

We'll get there eventually and that's good enough for me

Oh ho ho. I'd be so tempted to catch the train down to SA and pat him on the back when it actually happens. =P.

Good to hear. Thanks LK.
