Well, why not? Dwarves would have used spears like just about every other humanoid race in Middle Earth. :D

At first I thought they looked suspiciously like Vault Warden teams, but then I realized they carry spears AND (smaller) shields. :)

I agree and Tolken never said anything against it....so keep the fingers crossed!

Nice video's I might say, makes me even more ready for the movie! :D

Quite the contrary: in the Hobbit there's a quite strong indications that they had (at least made) spears. A three-forked spear is described to be hanging from the walls when Bilbo wanders around in the Lonely Mountain. While the spears you see here are not three-forked, it seems entirely plausible to me (better than the haircut of most Dwarves).

Also, I really like the new look of the Goblins (all that I can see from them so far). They look much more like I envisioned them from the book! :)

Yes Fëanor, was arguing that there was nothing that argued that they didnt have spears, I'm sorry if I worded that in a confusing manor.
